2010 REUNION
This family has been a little slow in having family reunions. We had a family reunion in Harlan, KY in 1995, one in Macon, Georgia in 2010 and a third in Harlan, KY in 2018.

We've highlighted the 2010 Reunion and kept it separate as our three remaining matriarchs were honored. Clora was the last surviving child of Easter Whitaker.  Dorothy (Jess) and Alice (Frank) survived their husbands and were the last two surviving sisters in love.  Sonny, Nelly's husband was not able to attend. However, he was the last surviving patriarch.

At the 2010 Reunion in Macon, Georgia, we recognized Clora, Dorothy and Alice as the oldest living matriarchs. Then they started naming the generations from Eliza Whitaker and went down to the seventh generation. In fact, the youngest attendee was 2-months and a member of the 7th generation. The oldest person there was 90-years old from the 3rd generation.

Jess Mason (3rd generation) had family representatives traveling the farthest distance to attend. Clora Turner (3rd generation) had the largest number of family represented. Eliza Edward (3rd generation) had family representatives. All families were remembered and the deceased memoralized.

There was a lot of bonding among the youth in the 5th generation!  In fact, the 5th generation attendees volunteered to serve on a Family Planning Committee for the 2011 Reunion.

The majority of the website responses said they wanted annual reunions. So we will do this annually for Clora, Dorothy and Alice. So, we're hoping to see descendants from all of the brothers and sisters in Harlan this summer.
